A bomb squad was called in after a suspicious box was found on the south side of the Victoria Police Department building, said Victoria Lt. Jason Cross.

The box was found at around 10:20 a.m., Cross said. There were no building evacuations, no fire or explosions, according to Cross.

"It's probably nothing more than just trash," Cross said.

At least part of Church Street, located on the south side of the building, was blocked off by a police vehicle.

Around 3:50 p.m., a bomb squad truck from the Corpus Christi Police Department was in the parking lot used by Victoria police and city officials, whose offices are located in the building next to the police department.

The ATF and FBI also responded, Cross said.
